No Sign of Flu Bug......Yet

Prince George, B.C.- When it comes to the flu in the region, so far so good.

Northern Health Public health nurses have administered 13 thousand flu shots so far this season. There were hundreds more administered at special clinics and the offices of Doctors.
Northern Health spokesperson Eryn Collins says the peak of flu season has yet to arrive “Typically, the peak of the season is late January to mid February, but so far we haven’t confirmed any cases of flu.”
Collins says there hasn’t been one lab detected or lab confirmed case of the flu so far this season throughout the Northern Health region.
“People can still get a flu shot if they want to be safe” says Collins. Free flu shots are available to people in certain higher risk groups on Friday’s from 9:00 to 3:30 at the Northern Health Unit on Edmonton Street.
