Family and Friends Hold Vigil for Murder Victim

Prince George, B.C. - Friends and family of Guy Mitchell Henry gathered at the parking lot of a popular Prince George restaurant Saturday afternoon to mark the one year anniversary of his death.
The 21 year old was gunned down January 24th, 2008 in what Prince George RCMP say was a targeted shooting.
Henry's mother Diane Henry says part of the goal of Saturday's vigil at 1804 Central Street East was to create awareness.
"We're trying to make a statement for all the kids in the streets that were already murdered. Enough is enough. We're just trying to say goodbye to Mitch at the same time, because a lot of stuff has happened through this and it's gonna get worse."
Henry's former girlfriend was also at the vigil. Megan Erickson says she attended to support Henry's family and his friends.
"I just hope that people will try to realize what has happened and it could happen to anybody."
There was also a noticeable police presence during the memorial. Constable Gary Godwin with the Prince George RCMP says the investigation into Guy Mitchell Henry's death is ongoing.
"This is still a very active and ongoing investigation, as are all of the murders we had last year. Unfortunately, they were all shootings and three out of the four were drug and gang related. We still need the public to give us some information. There are people out there with specific information to each one of these murders. Those are the people we really need to hear from."
Godwin says investigators do have a good idea about what's going on, but he says there are critical pieces of information, not unlike those of a puzzle, that police need to complete their investigation.
