Prince George, B.C. - Police arrested a 43 year old Prince George man Sunday night after a shooting incident.

RCMP attended a home in the 1700 block of Tamarack Street just before 6 p.m. after they received a report of a distraught man with a gun.

Witnesses say the man fired the gun into a brick fireplace at the residence and then fled in a vehicle.  There were no injuries.

Police caught up with a suspect a short time later and arrested him without incident.  Mounties seized several firearms and ammunition during their investigation.

The man is scheduled to appear in court to face firearm offences and charges of uttering threats.

RCMP say the shooting is not believed to be gang related.
