Quesnel, B.C. - The Olympic torch and it's appearance in Quesnel will be the focus of a meeting in that community Wednesday.

Mayor Mary Sjostrom and members of city council will sit down with VANOC officials to talk about the route the torch will take when it comes to Quesnel in 2010.

Sjostrom says the torch relay's Regional Route Coordinator Scott Kobus will sit down with city officials to discuss the city's ceremony as well.

The torch will be in Quesnel January 29th, 2010 after beginning its journey in Vancouver October 30th of this year.

Those interested in carrying the flame can apply online.

I wonder if we are allowed to charge a tax on it. I am sure we can scam something with the carbon issue.
It would make more sense for the mayor and council to discuss, a new route for logging trucks and semi's carrying dangerous goods to take.
Traffic in and through Quesnel is dangerous, and it seems to be worse in the past month.
A torch is the last thing they should be thinking about !
Hopefully the torch will go up Lewis Drive.
That would bring some light to that drug infested area.
