Quesnel, B.C. - Quesnel City Council has given its blessing to the construction of a ten foot wall between a local trailer park and a stretch of North Fraser Drive.

The owner of the Belair Estates mobile home park, Mike Blodgett, and park residents complained to council about the impact of traffic in the area.

Residents say logging truck traffic causes excess noise, dust, spray, and debris for people that live close to the road.

Blodgett says there's also a privacy issue, as pedestrians walking along the road can see down into the yards and porches of tenants .

Not everyone was in favour of the wall.  Some residents across the street on North Fraser Drive expressed concern that the wall would block their view of the river.

Councilors Michael Cave and Sushil Thapar were against the proposal.

Thapar says there should be regular cleaning of the wall each spring.

A fresh palate for all the artists in town.
A great grafitti place, no doubt.
Quesnel city council should be planning a bypass not a wall.
