Prince George, B.C. - City RCMP are investigating after a vehicle exploded early this morning.

Mounties were called to Lillooet Street shortly before 3 a.m. and found the remains of a vehicle scattered all over the neighbourhood.  RCMP say some parts flew up to three houses away from the blast site.

Police say the explosion is suspicious and have secured the area.  Investigators are attempting to find out what's behind the blast.  The owner of the vehicle was home at the time of the explosion, but was not injured.  Police say there were no reports of injuries in the area.

Call police or Crimestoppers with any tips.

I didn't know cocaine can explode!
I wonder if its drug related.
I did not think there were any Pinto's left
cars do not explode on their own, nor do they explode while shut off.
This was an act of terrorism or attempted murder, likely by the local underground economy.
If this was a car from the 50's or even the 60's,some new windows and it would be back on the road by morning!
This is what happens when they are made of plastic!
But seriously..what the hell is happening to Prince George?
This is pretty scary stuff!
My guess would be it was a Ford Tempo. Good riddance!
external combustion
Loki,terrorism !!!!!
see the article "Mounties call in Explosives Unit after Car Blast"
and
by definition, gangs operate using terrorism to intimidate victims.
Gangs should be treated as terrorists because that is what they are.
Getting the military involved in the "War on Gangs" might just make those gang bangers reconsider their public visibility and actions. The police are not equipped to deal with these thugs because they work outside of the law and society.
"..these thugs work outside of the law and society". Paul Kersey, where are you?
Gangs can survive because they can hire high priced dirt bag lawyers who console dirt bag gang bangers on how to use their rights and freedoms to run circles around the law who are badly outclassed. Using the military would make no difference at all.
Gangs can always survive... not because we do not yet have a police state, but rather because they will always have the access to cash flow profits that accrue to those who are prepared to use the most brute force, or appearance thereof, to intimidate others away from the client base. That is the simple genus of gangs regardless of how many laws we create, or how we apply those laws... and this genus will never change as long as those profits are there... all that will change is the anti up of the violence to achieve the next level.

Clearly if you want to take the motivation out of gangsterism... then you need to take away their cash flow. Hard drugs have a small less affluent client base. Weed on the other hand is nearly acceptable everywhere in society with large cash flow and export potential... that can act as an enabler of a criminal to be in the business in which they can then diversify into the high risk and high rewards of the hard drugs business. This should seem obvious to even the granny on the corner lot.

If we decriminalize weed IMO these gangs would only be able to support 1-in-10 what they can today at best and they would simply just vanish... as their market is overcrowded for the few small dollars to be made. Meanwhile the people smoking the weed if decriminalized are smoking something that has health standards applied and not something that is laced with whatever the enterprising street thug thinks will increase the business.

I think the police like the war on drugs, because that comes with a budget and a budget is always good regardless of the crime that comes with it. Its kind of a misnomer the 'war on drugs' as they confiscate legal gun ownership and create a huge entrance market for the gangsters that are well equipped to cause havoc where ever they go... as people rely on their phones to save them when it comes time to be 'saved' from the criminals that are well financed by their legislated monopoly (illegality) of their markets....
that was a good rant... lol
Hey, are we partners with the USA on the war on Terrorism? Did anyone declare a victory yet in that war?

Maybe if we go back to the previous meaning of the word before Bushites got so involved with it, the USA could declare a victory for the time being and we could withdraw from that battlefield as well and get back to crime investigation which the RCMP may actually be able to handle without calling in the Homeland Security Farce.
