Prince George, B.C. - Prince George Fire Rescue was called to City Furniture and Appliances shortly after 12:30.

Firefighters found smoke coming from the basement of the Third Avenue building when they arrived on scene.  Crews were able to quickly put out a fire in the basement of the business.  Fire Rescue says the building sprinkler system held the flames in check until firefighters were able to douse the fire.

Officials say there is no damage estimate available, but most of the damage was due to smoke and water.  A total of 5 trucks and 17 firefighters responded to the business.  There were no injuries.

Fire investigators say the incident is not suspicious, but are continuing to probe the cause.

Stay tuned for a "Fire damage" sale...
They won't sell much since nobody has a job anymore, E.I. does not pay enough to take advantage of a fire and smoke sale.
Gradually burning the downtown, one after another.
Hmmm so these fires could actually be the answer to downtown revitalization!! Just think of all the money to be saved if there were no downtown left to revitalize.
