Prince George, B.C. - Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a house fire in the 3800 block of Grace Crescent at approximately 1:45 this morning.  Crews found the home's two occupants waiting outside when they arrived on scene.

Crews were able to track down and put out a fire in the basement of the home, but officials say there was major fire damage in the lower area of the house and significant smoke damage throughout the residence.

One of the residents was treated for minor smoke inhalation at the scene, but there were no other injuries.  Fire officials say the occupants woke to the sound of the smoke alarm and were able to make it out and call 911.

Fire investigators will be back at the scene today to find out what caused the fire.  Prince George Fire Rescue says it does not appear to be suspicious.

No damage estimate is available.

Another win for smoke alarms. Glad they had one, in working condition.
metalman.
Oh boy, when are they gonna force the owner to clean it up.
After all this is a notorious area for undesirable family units, that is why they live there, not because they are economically challenged. The city is supposed make sure that when any tragic event occurs the cleanup is expedited immediately.

The city needs to get after this negligent owner right away. I mean the house burned down yesterday.
