Police were called, and a man, said to be carrying a shot gun,  emerged from the  home where the woman said she had  been shot.   The events that followed are not yet clear, but  a police officer fired  a service revolver and killed the man.

The Police Complaints Office has been advised and an independent observer is now examing the events.   As well, there is an internal review of the officers actions.

"It appears at this point to have been a domestic dispute" says Chief Superintendent Clarke.

The woman is in hospital, her condition not immediately known.  The name of the deceased has not been released at this time.

Is that a tent he is wearing? Anyways, I can see public outcry on why the suspect was not tazered first is on the way.....

At any event, I am glad the member was able to react quick enough against a shotgun threat.
i bet the cops will get away with killing someone again like they did in houston
"i bet the cops will get away with killing someone again like they did in houston"

What a moronic comment. Do some homework you cop bashing idiot. If someone holds a shotgun to you, you shoot in self defence. What's the guy doing with a shotgun anyways?
You are asked to respond to a report of a woman being shot. You attend the residence and a man comes out with a shotgun. What would you do Robert Pickton?
i bet the cops will get away with killing someone again like they did in houston
they probably didnt ask the man to drop his weapon instead they just had a reason to kill someone it probably wouldnt be the 1st time it happened
Once we get the whole story, if we get the whole story it will be a good time to make informed comments.

So far there isn't much of a story is there?

Otherwise you could assume the women attacked the man with the gun and he took it away from her and she was shot in the scuffle or, or, or, or, or.
back of the head shot????, just wondering!!
The RCMP have earned themselves a bad name, so don't criticize people that think the thugs (RCMP) would not shoot someone in the back of the head, and call it self defence!

They (RCMP)have a very bad attitude, and they need to do some reigning in!!

No person should even be considered for the
position of an RCMP officer before they turn 25. It should be like an apprenticeship, they have to attend the Accademy, but have to spend 4 years as an apprentice cop (no GUN) like an auxillary

Over the years, the color of the cop cars have change! This is good?? You can change the color of the exterior, but the guts are still the same!

Look at the root of the problem, and you will have a solution!!

cheers
Domestic dispute, guns are out = problems and likely the man is guilty until proven innocent.
The woman was killed, had this been a friend, sister, or mother, none of you would have anything bad to say about the police. It's easy for you to speculate and talk trash about the police, until you need one. They are laying their lives on the line every day for us, show some gratitude!
