Prince George, B.C.-  The woman who  had  made it to a neighbour's home  in 100 Mile House to  seek help after being shot,  has died.

RCMP say shortly before 7 am this morning, RCMP members were dispatched to a reported domestic dispute on Cedar Avenue in 100 Mile House. Preliminary information at this time suggests that a woman arrived at a neighbour’s residence informing them that she had been shot.

Upon RCMP members’ attendance, a man allegedly exited the residence armed with a shotgun. An RCMP member discharged his service pistol at the man striking him. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 56-year-old woman was transported to 100 Mile House District General Hospital where she was airlifted to Kamloops. She died en route to Royal Inland Hospital.

In addition to police resources currently investigating the police involved shooting, an independent investigation team will be attending 100 Mile House to investigate the death of the female victim.

The Commission for Public Complaints has been advised of the shooting death. They have invoked their Independent Observer and are currently on site to monitor the police investigation. As in all officer involved shootings, there will be an Independent Officer review that will look at all circumstances surrounding the incident and subsequent investigation.

Inspector Lorne Pike of the Delta Police Department will also be attending the scene to provide an independent oversight from a Municipal Police Agency.

The names of the deceased will not be released pending notification of next of kin.

was it gang related?
Domestic dispute(as mentioned in previous related article)
What are the seasonal stats on murders, are there more in the depressing winter months than the rest of the year?
did they shoot him in the back of the head, just wondering!!
Who cares where they shot him, justice was served.
yup taxinapothole im sure they did but some how the evidence will be changed so it looked like the man was pointing the gun at them screaming obscenities
This is really unfortunate. Good thing they didn't use a taser.
"They have invoked their Independent Observer and are currently on site to monitor the police investigation." Whether the shooting was justified or not, the Independent Observer is still a cop so we all know the shooting will be justified. So tell me again how good our justice system is.
What is an RCMP officer suppose to do when faced with an angry person pointing a shotgun at him after he shot his girlfriend?

Ask him to drop the gun?

The officer did the right thing, he shot the s.o.b.

Well done!

He also saved the taxpayers 1000's of dollars on court costs and lawyers fees, not to mention jail expenses.

Hey HD

Where did you read an angry person was pointing a shotgun at a cop?

Where did you read it was a fact that this guy shot his girlfriend?

How do you know the girlfriend wasn't responsible for her own wounds.

What does anybody really know for sure?

I would say not much, so why all the comments telling us all what happened here when no one knows squat?
Not to mention that it's possible we will never really know the whole truth because the two people involved are dead.

Unless there are other witness's to what happened that we don't know about yet.
Ok, guys, he was just coming out of the house to shoot a rabbit and his girlfriend was shot by a guy who ran out of the backdoor. Keep dreaming.
Hey HD, did it ever cross your mind that some of the bloggers here might actually know what happened by virtue of their occupations?
