Morning Fires are Suspicious
By 250 News
Prince George Assistant Fire Chief Chris Magnussen says crews didn't have much chance against two early morning blazes...
Magnussen says both were fully involved by the time fire fighters arrived at the calls.
He says R.C.M.P. were on-scene when crews arrived at Masich Place Stadium around 3:30 this morning to find a storage shed fully engulfed in flames. The 900 sq. ft. facility burned to the ground, but nothing else at the field was damaged.
Magnussen says it's impossible, at this point, to determine if there was anything inside the shed and city staff are being contacted, but he pegs the value of the structure at approximately $15-thousand dollars.
From there, crews attended a vehicle fire on La Salle Avenue and Lillooet Street. There initial concerns the flames may spread to nearby vehicles and a power pole, but crews managed to contain it.
Magnussen says a 1990 GMC pick-up truck was destroyed.
He says both fires are under police investigation.
