Prince George, B.C.- The Air Quality Advisory remains in effect in Prince George.

Based on the air quality data, the high levels are mainly due to combustion emissions (smoke) with some contribution from road dust.

Even though particulate levels are expected to be lower today, there is a possibility of higher levels reoccurring this evening and tomorrow morning. The 24 hour PM2.5 rolling average was 20 µg/m3 at the Plaza 400 downtown site at 9:00 am and 15 µg/m3 at College Heights. The 24 hour PM10 rolling average was 50 µg/m3 at the Plaza 400 downtown, 43 µg/m3 at BCR and 36 µg/m3 at College Heights.

This Air Quality Advisory is expected to be in effect until further notice, with an update to be provided this afternoon at 4:30 pm.

Right now there is a large presents of desiel fumes in the air, not only dust and smoke. Take a drive down the P.G. Pulpmill road and stick your head out the window.
That's what I call flavored fog.
Its gros. Why not just make an announcement when the air is clean?
Let's line up all of the local politicians along the base of Cranbrook hill for a news conference and photo opportunity. The hot air generated by the blather will rise, and create a current, which will develop into a breeze, and so on. It's called the flutter-bye effect. Keep G. Campbell away though, we don't want a hurricane blowing up our kilts.
You're welcome.
