Major Upsets in Fort St. John and Dawson Creek

Steve Thorlakson is no longer the Mayor of Fort St. John.  The new Mayor is Jim Eglinski.   

The final vote was 1540 to 940 .

The issue that seemed to  plague Thorlakson was a matter of trust over his personal income tax  court case earlier this year. 

Meantime, in Dawson Creek Incumbent Mayor Wayne Dahlen has been defeated by Calvin Kruk.  The election had been fought over the construction of the South Peace  Community Multiplex for Dawson Creek.  The  final count  was  Kruk 1412, Dahlen got  1051.

Good thing Ben is covering the election.

I tried to watch the 11PM news tonight and they had movies playing instead. The radio hasn't covered it much either.
