108 Resort Fire Suspicious

108 Mile – Police are saying a fire that destroyed the entire north wing of the 108 Mile resort is being investigated as suspicious.

The fire broke out just after eight this morning and quickly engulfed the entire north wing.

The 108 Volunteer fire department along with the 100 Mile house fire department responded to the fire. They remain on the scene.

A fire examiner and the RCMP forensic Identification Unit are on the scene waiting for the fire department to bring the blaze under control before they begin their investigation.

There were no injuries reported to those who fought the blaze.

We stayed at the hotel three nights ago in the north wing!! The front clerk was telling us that the hotel was just purchased by a company from Vancouver, but based out of Dubai. They are/were planning a full renovation worth millions of $$. Could this be a way of cutting construction costs by having an insurance company "pay" for some of that? Very suspicious indeed...

Nothing is lost. The place was a dump.
Be grateful nobody got hurt and the bedbugs are gone!
