Oh, isn't that nice
Surprised Dan Rogers didnt decline the grants like he did for twinning with a potential trade partner...
what part of the 3.48% municipal tax increase will pay for this wasteful spending
None loki, this will come from your income tax return, PST, or other sources unknown...this was paid for by criminal Campbell and his bunch of yes people.
This one comes out of your left pocket instead of the right.
What the heck is a full length poetry manuscript!
I think a "full length manuscript" means a free lunch or something.
smoke and mirrors Taxpayers pay one way or another
I don't know much about art but I know what I like. And it is not the "art' of wasting my tax dollars at a time like this.
This must be the narrow minded, short sited group that everyone is talking about.
You can leave any time Runner46.
There must be an art to repairing roads around here, throw the money at that.
acrider, you just hit the nail on the head. All we have to do is call it "the art of road maintenance" and we can keep going back to the trough for more handouts. That is what the arts community does and their requests are never declined.
I'm glad to see the government did not forget funding for old hippies.
Close the Exploration Place

Close the Two Rivers Gallery

Shut down the District Community Arts Council

Remove the grant from Ken.

Nobody needs these things. We get enough art from TV.

BTW, we also have book stores. Let us keep them busier and close the Library and save millions of taxpayer dollars. The building can be converted to a hostel.

Remove all those eagles from the streets. Donor money is just going to keep the money from going to local restaurants and other discretionary spending items and services.

No more hanging baskets. Too much maintenance to keep them watered. The banners need to go too. We cannot afford the production costs and the costs to put them up and take them down.

Get rid of art programs at school. Save money in the education system. Teaching young kids art can lead to frustrations later on when they cannot make money producing it and cannot spend money viewing it anywhere.

The whole notion of the importance of art in our lives is completely wrong. Don't know what drugs the researchers were on when they came up with stupid ideas about healthy, well rounded people.
STOP THE SPENDING!
Do you think spending time on here is a problem?

I do. Almost everyone, if not everyone, on here has a computer and internet access. Lots of $ there that are not necessary. Bunch of spender who are the cause of this econimic condition we are in.

Who is going to be the first to quit?
Make the Two Rivers Gallery self sufficient. Make them raise entrance fees. That oughta do it.
