I hope one of the vehicles belonged to the judge., then just maybe he will get taken off the street for awhile.
Was the RCMP wanting the repeat offender (known to police) to do a greater amount of crime, so the judge could actually put this guy away for a month this time?

Maybe the offender is homeless? The Auditor General says the government (taxpayers) should give this guy a home and some money. Maybe all this blackmailer wants is free housing and a welfare cheque, otherwise he will bust up your vehicle? What does jail time, with all the perks, cost the taxpayer? $500+/day? Does the offender care which way he gets our money?

Doesn't seem like this offender can loose, no wonder the government took away our guns! Someone might get upset.
Why did the RCMP not taser the sh&t out of him when he started damaging the very first vehicle instead of letting him damage half a dozen?

Who pays for the repair of all those vehicles?
good question diplomat you get to go to ICBC and than that becomes a claim against you, than does your insurance go up
The RCMP did not Taser him because he probably only carried a screwdriver or a pry bar with him, not a stapler
Is he out yet, oh sorry my mistake, after they feed him brekdfast first.
They had to wait for the crimes to stack up, to have a hope of holding him in a cell past noon today. After all, he probably had a tough childhood, it can't be his fault he is so anti social you can't keep him in jail, that's not fair.
Diplomat, you know who pays for the claims for damaged vehicles, I know you do. The owner pays; for the damage, or for the deductible, if he or she can afford it, and if a claim is made against the insurance, then pays again next year when there is an increase due to a claim the previous year. The darling young offender gets fed, clothed and protected, and has the right to offend again, that is how our 'justice' system is supposed to work, right? I'm not bitter, just experienced.
metalman.
metalman, where in this article does it says he's a "darling young offender"?
"Police say they watched as the suspect damaged six vehicles, three were entered and the suspect tried to steal two of them."

OMFG they watched?
Shouldn't they have taken him out with a rocket launcher.
Seems that would have been an appropriate response if you compare it to the RD murder at YVR.

They watched...sounds like grounds for a civil action. Failing to take mitigating action perhaps.
what are the cops gonna do arrest someone for " not breaking" into a vehicle?of course they're gonna watch him break into 6 cars instead of just 1 because now they have 6 charges of attempted auto theft compared to 1 charge of vandalizing property.pretty simple stuff here people.but im sure taxinapothole will have something different to say about this matter
ok Jim i think you have watched too much judge judy and should stop using words on here to sound snart and intelligent when you dont even know what the word means
Police say they watched as the suspect damaged six vehicles, three were entered and the suspect tried to steal two of them.

Did they at least video it for rock solid proof of guilt? Isn't watching a criminal act in progress a form of complicity? Aiding and abetting?
I bet now he only gets a slap on the wrist, again. They should have driven him past tabor mountain and let him walk back to town without a coat, Just like they do in Saskatoon.
dont worry im sure the cops gave the guy a good beating one of the 50 times they arrested him but as we see it taught him nothing at all.its probably that meth head mike addey back at it.he was the dodge thief from a few summers back
He will just plead insanity, eat a few body parts and HEAD out of jail.
With 50 (fifty!) criminal convictions this individual should have lost the ability to roam around freely a long long time ago.

Obviously a criminal conviction doesn't have a greater social impact than a parking ticket anymore in today's society.

The judges don't seem to be too worried about the catch, convict and release back into society method!

How many more offenses did this individual commit in the past that DID NOT result in criminal convictions?

This city should get tough and declare that certain habitual lawbreakers are not wanted in this city and simply tell them to get lost. If they decide to stay the cops must have them under constant surveillance 24/7 until they get the message and move on.

Hire the extra RCMP or pay for all the extra overtime required!

I don't see that super aggressive panhandler in P.G. anymore - he also got chased out of Williams Lake after the mayor told him to hit the road.

I am really pi**ed off that they let him damage all thoes vehicles first before arresting him. We , or someone has to pay for that with our insurances to the tune of about $300, or whatever our deductable happens to be, so WHO re-emburses us?...NOBODY...just our rotten luck...
This is exactly why, when we come to your town, we leave our car unlocked... it has those blacked out windows so that you cannot see inside.

We like to park in the downtown area, especially where it is dimly lit... what you don't know is what we have inside the vehicle... several dozen, fully grown, ravenously hungry, saber-toothed, killer rabbits !!!

They are very tidy feeders... they leave absolutely nothing for evidence... even Ghrisom and Willows haven't been able to snare them !!!

:-) :-) :-)

PS... the "safe" word this weekend is... "Hesperous".

I guess I assumed that the darling is a young offender, could be wrong.
metalman.
they watched him do 6 so that he would have a way to plea bargain to a lessor charge and receive the lightest possible sentence.
This is job security for the RCMP. No crime, no job.
Same for the Judge that will apply the least sentence possible, ensuring that the Judge has a reason to sit the bench.
And the prosecutor too.

It really is too bad that BC or canada does not have a three strikes like the states.
Maybe three is a little bit early, but at least by conviction 5 or 6, it should be life without possibility of parole or release.
how about publishing the name , photo & address of these repeat offenders? Think they'll get to 50 offences?
Rember the privacy act, no publishing a criminals name or picture{bad} we might see just what we are see what we are up against. The criminals are the law.
what every one seems to be missing here is the fact that the RCMP are doing their job as best they can. With the "criminal justice system"as it is now, is just that. Justice for the criminals. I commend the cops for continuing to do their job as well as they do. How do you think you would react if someone came behind you at your workplace and went about undoing all the work you had done that day. over and over again. I know I would get quite frustrated. So maybe once in awhile instead of playing "arm chair quarter back", trying thinking of what these guys and gals are up against.
