Terrace IS Hockeyville!

Terrace, B.C. –Terrace has been named the winner of this year’s Kraft Hockeyville competition. Terrace drew the most votes through online, text and phone ballots.
The win means Terrace will pick up the grand prize of $100,000 in arena upgrades from Kraft and will get to host an NHL pre-season game between the Vancouver Canucks and the New York Islanders on Monday September 14th.
B.C. Premier Gordon Campbell has offered his congratulations to Terrace for it’s win "On behalf of all British Columbians, I'd like to offer my congratulations to all of the residents of Terrace on being named Hockeyville 2009.
"Hockey is inextricably linked to Canadian and British Columbian culture, and the people of Terrace showed their community pride and enthusiasm in bringing in millions of votes from across the country to secure their win.
"Terrace rallied together to show the country why their community deserved to be Hockeyville and at the same time demonstrated the kind of spirit that makes the Northwest such an incredible part of our province.
"The whole city came together for the good-natured competition and as a result Terrace will host an NHL Pre-Season Game, a CBC Hockey Night in Canada broadcast, and get $100,000 towards the Terrace Sportsplex.
"Terrace is Hockeyville!"
