MCBRIDE, B.C. -Calgary-based energy company Kinder Morgan Canada (KMC) has donated $350,000 to BC Parks to establish an endowment fund for Mount Robson Provincial Park to support projects that benefit the park.

"Mount Robson is one of Canada's true natural wonders," said Prince George-Mount Robson MLA Shirley Bond . "We are very grateful to Kinder Morgan Canada for recognizing this fact and taking steps to ensure that future generations of British Columbians and visitors from around the world will be able to enjoy this very spectacular part of British Columbia."

Three years before the start of the KMC Anchor Loop project, which involves the twinning of an existing pipeline through Jasper National Park and Mount Robson Provincial Park, KMC consulted government and stakeholders from a number of jurisdictions and backgrounds to receive input on environmental concerns and requirements. As a result of these meetings, the company committed to establishing legacy funds for both parks.

The $350,000 donation is a special contribution from KMC that is independent of the company's responsibility for meeting stringent environmental requirements for the Anchor Loop project and covering all costs of environmental remediation in Mount Robson Provincial Park.

Yes sir, money always talks when you want something. The project may be three years away but it never hurts to grease the skids a little. Is Kinder Morgan not a US Company?
Do they make chocolate treats too?
Another political action picture for Gordo /Shirley! Always good to be the good guy before the work starts.
Last fall they tried to get a power transmission line through a provincial park to tie in the independent power producers run of river project. This was prevented from happening by interested parties (environmentalists) because they did not want an unsightly power line through a park.
Yet an energy company is permitted to install a pipeline that carries a potential hazard if the pipe were to rupture.
Lets see, power lines that look bad, or pipeline that could spill hazardous materials.
Where are the priorities.
A power line could enable the use of more green energy devices and is needed for our infrastructure. We are running out of petroleum so we don't need more petroleum infrastructure and it should never be allowed in a park.
pipelines are hidden powerlines are not. The powerline would benefit local people the pipeline benefits an outside group with a lot more money.
All you people bitch-in, what do you heat your houses with? Kill your kids and reduce your carbon footprint.
