Unemployment Rate Climbs

Prince George, B.C.- The impact of the downturn in the global economy is showing in the latest unemployment stats.
 
Last month, the unemployment rate in the Prince George region ( Cariboo) climbed two full percentage points to 7.8%, putting it higher than the national mark. In February of last year the rate was 5.8%.
 
Provincially, the rate climbed to 6.7% up from 4.2 in February of 2008.
 
Nationally, the rate climbed to 7.5%, it had been 5.6% from the same month a year ago.

Just read an article say their could be up to 27% unemployment by year end- I have three tents.
