All this council knows how to do is RAISE fees for everything. Rediculous!!
I think that those are modest increases, and probably needed.
metalman.
I agree metalman... I would sooner see them increase the fee for users than take more from general funds. I have no problem paying more for services I use a less for the ones I don't.
Nice.... more increases in the costs for fitness activities! This may seem like a small increase but for anyone who has lost a job or has a reduced income for any reason, this comes directly out of their immediate budget. They should be trying to find more ways of making fitness programs more affordable for the average user not just the ones who qualify for subsidies. In these economic times, families are very squeezed and this in not the time to raise fees!
I see the wave pool is down for repairs this week, how convenient the city seems to do this every year when the the kids are out of school!
My brother in Europe took his 4 kids to the pool there and it cost him 20 Euro's about $35.00 - Here the same thing would cost less than 1/2 that... I think we have it pretty good! Stop the whining
ROFLMAOOOOOOO Comparing Prince George to all of Europe is like comparing apples and oranges. Get a grip!
What is rediculous is whinning about a $0.10 increase to a swim. The centre has overhead costs they need to maintain. How about they cut the cholorine and you get an infection?
I go to the 4 seasons once each week since I retired. Great facility and wonderful staff. Don't mind paying a bit more.

Very thankful to have this opportunity.
Thank you.
I agree with Shellshadow... we cannot compare with Europe unless we would also like to consider what they pay for everything else too! I also agree that they are modest increases but when you look at the cost for families who have few low cost choices for recreational activities (outside of College Heights) it adds up. I think it would be beneficial to look at ideas such as expanding the toonie swim hours for example to accommodate families on a tight budget. After all we pay for the cost of the facilities too but may not be able to use them often due the increased costs. Everyone benefits from having ready access to recreational programs,...especially families near the poverty line. Look at the connections between boredom and crimes... and gang violence...
Alright I`m not against the modest increases they are putting forward here ,but I do have a problem having to pay a higher rate than children etc. as an adult I`m proably in greater need of the physical activity afforded by a vigorous swim ,I`m less likely to cause vandalism than somebodies genetic failure and I`ll be damned if I`d pee in the pool ,as an adult I should be given a discount and preferential treatment to the snotnosed little buggers we all call kids. Not discouraged by penalizing those of us for being more mature.
At four seasons today, cost $5.19 for four of us.

That is outrageous! Somebody at the city should have his azz kicked! Oops to late he left.

The price should be at least $7.50 and that would still be far too cheap. Have some respect people!
Blurb.. do you qualify for the special needs rate?!
