Tom Madden accepts gift from Mayor Dan Rogers
Prince George, B.C. - After 18 years of being the head of the Leisure Services / Community Services department of the City of Prince George, Tom Madden is just 10 days away from retirement.
He has not only been responsible for the leisure service programs, he has also been a key figure in the construction of several facilities, including; the CN Centre, Aquatic Centre, upgrades to the Kin Centres, even the underground parking lot of the Chances Gaming Centre.
Mayor Dan Rogers thanked Madden for his years of service and for his wisdom and thoughtful input at Council.
After accepting a gift of a painting of the cutbanks, Madden thanked Council for the opportunity to serve the public. He also offered thanks to his colleagues and his wife. “2009 is the year of our 40th wedding anniversary and she has been with me for all my 35 years in civic government, she has been a part of any of my successes.”
Madden also thanked the volunteers and community members he has worked with through the years, “It has been a pleasure to bring their dreams to reality.”
