Prince George, B.C.- City Council  will take part in Earth Hour again this year.

Earth hour is set for March 28th, and people are urged to turn off the lights, or reduce electrical consumption for one hour between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m.

Last year, Council approved turning off the lights in the trees at City Hall . Council has agreed to repeat that this year, and will look for ways to expand on that. City Manager Derek Bates says they will look at how they can turn off the lights in all facilities that are under the City’s control.

I feel warm and fuzzy all over.
If the City turns off the lights on the trees at City Hall will this offset the cost of putting on all the lights on Connaught Hill at Christmas time????

Why does the City have lights on these trees anyway. ????
Not sure why we need the tree lights on after Christmas to start with...so really help out you bunch of , well I won't say it, and turn them lights off for 11 months...and in my opinion, if you ever turn your computers on to work..the energy use will be right back up there....
are the tree lights LED type of bulbs? They are so low in energy use that this will not save hardly any energy.
Let's us reduce CO2 for an hour, too. Breathe very shallow fer that hour. No excessive exhaling.
Turn out the lights and book your Trip to Mexico, you done your thing to save the World ?
