Forget about the weather, pay no attention to it because no matter what is happening outside, Spring is officially here.  It arrived  just as this story was being posted.

But it will be a while before the flowers shown in this photo will be in bloom in our part of the  province.   There is a  deep layer of snow to melt before anything that bright and colorful pops up!

So despite what seems to have been a very long winter,    Spring is officially here.

That's funny
HA!!!
Merry Spring!!
Hey I thought spring came on March 21st? Was this not the original date? Does anyone know why it has changed? Or maybe have an explanation as to why it used to be common knowledge that spring was on the 21st of March but is now the 20th?

thanks in advance.
Spring (for Canadians) starts when the sun is directly overhead at the equator. Summer starts when the sun reaches its most northerly position. Winter starts when the sun is in its most southerly position.
In Vancouver, the cherry blossom trees usually start blooming in the first days of March. Not only is it not happening, trees are not even starting to leaf yet.
Last nights thunder/lightening performance was a bit unique.
