Prince George, B.C.- RCMP are looking for two different suspects following two separate hold ups last night.

In the first case, a person who was about to withdraw money from the Royal Bank ATM at the Pine Centre Mall  around 9 last night was approached by a lone male who demanded cash.   The suspect was armed with what appeared to be a home made knife. The suspect left the scene without getting any money from the victim and the victim was not harmed. The suspect is said to be a First Nations male, about 5’11 or 6’0 feet  tall, between 160 and 170 pounds, about 25 years old wearing a dark hoody and dark pants.

In the second incident, around 9:10 in the evening, a lone male entered the liquor store at the Bon Voyage strip mall and indicated he had a weapon. He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and some alcohol. He is described as about 6’ tall, with brown hair, he was clean shaven , wearing sunglasses a ball cap and blue jeans.

We should build a massive 700 room Penitentiary. We obviously have no shortage of criminals in this province. It may even send a message to those that are thinking of being career criminals that we'll be ready for you. Not to mention the job prospects of such a facility.
Both of these establishments are (or should be) equipped with video security cameras.

It shouldn't take too long to track these scums down and ask them not to do it anymore.

Don't forget to say: "please" as harsh words may provoke hurt and feelings of resentment.
Hey! At least they ain't selling drugs.
not selling ,need the money to buy em
I saw a healthy looking 30 year old guy at the Superstore the other day asking people if he could return their carts for the dollar... said he needed bus fair out of town. I let him return my cart. Some people are desperate when they have no income and welfare has a 60-day waiting policy.

IMO if they resort to violence then they should be locked up and given a place to stay for a long time, but for those that do not resort to violence I think society could do a lot more to recognize genuine hardships that drive people to that kind of desperation. For most of these people an employment problem becomes a housing problem, and the housing problem becomes a drug problem, and the drug problem becomes a life sentence as scum of the earth to be scape goated for the benefit of the rest of society 'who deserve rights'.

The 'undeserving' have a tough rode to hoe whether they have drug problems or not, and these are crimes of desperation IMO, so that is the message we should be thinking about for solutions in addition to policing and the health issues of these people.

That said obviously these were potentially violent crimes that were committed and if you do the crime, then you should also do the time... with no tale story deals and no time off for good behavior.
"I let him return my cart." I did the same. He asked politely. No problem.
Same guy has been working different scams for the last couple years, just to get a bus ticket out of town. Must be buying his second bus by now...
It would take a shorter time to buy a bus returning shopping carts from the Stupidstore than from Save On. Give the guy good marks for his take on economics. That's the kinda guy you want working at AIG.
Yeah, he just needs "two more dollars" for his bus ticket. I have met these guys before too, in all different places. They always promise most sincerely to pay me back, but I suppose that they have been unable to track me down so far. Oh well.
metalman.
Let them go to jail and let them die for all I care. Don't bother me or they will get a punch in face and I don't care what it looks like in court.
I was talking to a business owner from Surrey who had numerous problems with holdups, etc. He was really desperate for a solution. He had extra staff, he had security cameras, he had everything he could think of. Nothing helped.

I mentioned the "rat trap" that was put in at a few local establishments here, whereby the exit doorway had a mantrap installed that could trap and hold the suspect on their way out the door, remotely triggered by the attendant. Well, he loved the idea.
I explained how it worked, and how once you had the suspect trapped, you then call the police and they come and deal with the person.
I had to talk him out of the idea of leaving the person there on display for everyone to taunt and laugh at, maybe even calling all his friends down to taunt and jeer. He even spoke of putting on a rat costume and taunting the person. It was all pretty funny, but he vowed to install one and I haven't been contacted by him since.
