Population and Development Numbers Out

The population of Prince George is likely 77,721 that's the figuring of the Development Services Department which is filing an information item to Prince George Council .
The update also outlines estimates that for all of 2005, 670 building permits will have been issued with a value of $91 million dollars.
More than a third of that amount came in the way of 6 projects:
1. New Learning Centre at UNBC $24,100,000.00
2. Renovation of the old Canadian Tire building to become the John Brink Trade Centre $3,624,846.00
3. New Tourist Accomodation 1790 Highway 97 South (foundation and finishing permits combined) $3,200,000.00
4. Fishtrap Island pumping station $2,830,471.00
5. Renovation to food court at Pine Centre Mall $2,600,000.00
6. Prince George Water Reservoir $2,201,000.00
The report also says this has been a positive year for business licensing with an estimated 4800 licenses issued, and of that 545 are new businesses.
