More Road Cash Announced

Prince George, B.C.- The Province and Federal Government have announced more funding for infrastruture projects throughout B.C.

For the Central interior and northern regions, there are some  projects to be added to the list of  upgrades announced yesterday which will see the intersection of Domano and Highway 16 undergo $9.5 M  worth of upgrades, and  the Pine Pass will see $40 million dollars worth of  widening and realignment. * Prince George: New 4-lane bridge on Highway 97, replacing Stone Creek Bridge: $28 million
* Fort Nelson: Base strengthening and sealcoating of Highway 77 from Deasum Creek to the NWT border: $6 million
* Quesnel: 4-laning of Highway 97 from Cody Road to Australian: $10 million
* 100 Mile House: 4-laning of Highway 97 at Stormy Road North: $3 million
* Several communities: Forest service road upgrades: $20 million

The full bill, for all of the projects in B.C. will be $290 million.  The Government of Canada is setting aside up to $116.6 million from the new Infrastructure Stimulus Fund. The B.C. Government is contributing $134.7 million. Other funding partners are contributing the remaining $38.8 million.

It is expected the projects throughout the province will create 1800 direct jobs.

So what happened to the Boundary Road project. Shelved??

Does that mean 1,800 person years?
Boundry Road Project, which in itself is a total waste of taxpayers money will be announced closer to the election. That way they can get more bang for their buck.
