Prince George - The provincial government announced today that they will spend $700,000 dollars to upgrade the Walker Creek Forest Road. The funding will allow replacement of the deck material on the Fraser River Bridge, part of the Walker Creek Forest Service road, located east of Prince George.

Additional works planned for this road will improve accessibility through the summer season for users of Kakwa Provincial Park, a showcase of ice clad mountains and extensive alpine meadows and home to Mount Sir Alexander, Mount Ida and Kakwa Lake.

Meanwhile we are slamming into the potholes in the city and on highways in the region, how about a passing lane at Ten Mile Lake north of Quesnel instead.
The Walker Creek Road is a huge investment that is in need of maintainance. The water and willows will swallow up the road if it isn't kept in use. It also has potholes, but is worth the drive.
