whoops, sorry, tried to correct, and sort of duplicated!!
A saw the cleanup today as they swept the streets on first and tabor. Left a whole bunch of those sand/rocks that spewed out of the sides of the sweeper all over the road and made matters worse rather than better.

No quality control to be seen.

Make sure to have a lifeboat on standby just in case he falls in and drowns!
They should be organizing the jail birds for cleaning up the city! This should be a 3 day a week job for them, seeing how the city doesn't want to pay anyone for doing the job. So I volunteer my tax dollars to be spent on "free jail bird labour".
Sure, its nice to do all this clean up. But seriously, Dan, is your confidence so low, that you need to be loved to run this city.

Dan, stop the butt kissing, and start running this city. Otherwise, you will continued to be labelled as a spineless mayor... kinda like Backhouse.
Sure be nice if people stopped letting their dogs crap all over the place.
Sweep the streets...sort of...
Then clean the sidewalks and push all the gravel onto the streets but miss all kinds of areas ie at building edges, planters etc etc, so not fully cleaned
Then sweep the streets again and leave nice trails of gravel all nicely lined up.
Then nothing happens...hopefully rain will wash it all away rather than vacumning it up and re-using it (ie in potholes with top layers of asphalt for examples.)
Paving stones should be soaped up and power washed...but then winter comes again and snowplows push the remaining gravel away and the sander truck adds new gravel and sand everywhere...
Its almost hilarious thinking about it!
No wonder nice ladie's shoe stores are non-existent in PG. Will never wear my Jimmy Choo's in PG...let alone normal pumps...they just get damaged immediately from all the crap on our sidewalks (or what appear to be sidewalks)
Quality control is non-existent.
Maybe the wooden boardwalks from the past can return...we can get Heritage Funding and will tie in nicely with our Heritage Hotels.
Its SOOOOOO frustrating. Yet, I pay my taxed on time every year...the ones that keep going up and the level of service keeps going down.
