His days in the Cabinet are over. Of course, I said that about Gordon Hogg after his relationship with convicted cheque kiter, Doug Walls, caused him to get the boot.
I do not believe that his days as a cabinet member are over yet. I have heard good things about this man on this site.
Even though I am one of the posters here that called for him to step down, it was not a condemnation of him as a minister, just as the minister for licensing.

He has actually garnered my support because he first admitted to the suspension, then stepped down because having a suspended license as the minister responsible for licensing did not look good.
The boy manned up.
This is the system we choose to live in by adopting extreme laws and regulations.

I am sure he has seen it happening to hundreds if not thousands of persons charged with the same. He may have even prosecuted some of them.

Is it justice? i don't think so.

Don't be surprised there are 2.9 Millions with similar situation in canada.

You only imagine what being burn by fire until it happens to you.

This is an opportunity to review, reconsider and find better solutions.
wtf?
So, don't see why Gordo didn't step down.
ICBC has the unchecked power to destroy lives in BC. They do it all the time through various means... they are unaccountable for a faulty system that is revenue driven rather than road safety or best practices enforcement oriented, which opens them up to all sorts of corruption and abuse. For one (minor point) the one size fits all penalties are disproportionately heavy on the working poor, as opposed to the wealthy with options. Much better fairness needs to be addressed for the financial disparity of offenders... IMO possibly through options to do community volunteer hours, as opposed to financial or driving restrictions, as a form of escalating enforcement with a purpose.

IMO if Van Dongen didn't pull rank, and then owned up like a man... I can forgive. He needed to step down, but I think he is now as a result still eligible for a second life in another post for showing character in not playing power games with the issue.
I don't think Gordo has a conscience Imorge...
I feel he has been giving the who province the bird while gloating with his huge paycheck and pension.
