Advance Polling Starts Today

Prince George, B.C. - Advance voting starts today in the Provincial election and goes through to and including Saturday.  
 
Elections B.C. is spreading the message that you can turn one vote into three, simply by bringing a relative, a friend, a work colleague with you when you vote. “Only one party will win the election, but we can all win by getting a good turnout—a good sign of the strength of our democracy” says Harry Neufeld, Chief Elections Officer for B.C.
 
There is a possibility of reaching 2 million voters in B.C. which would be a new milestone for voter turnout. Anyone can vote at an advance poll, it is not just for those who may be away on election day.
 
If you’re not registered, you can still vote—get registered when you vote. Be sure to bring along identification with you.

 

Bring along:

one document issued by the Government of B.C. or Canada that contains your name, photograph and residential address, such as a B.C. driver’s licence or B.C. Identification Card (BCID)

OR  Certificate of Indian Status

OR two documents that contain your name.  At least one of the documents must also contain your residential address.  

The Chief Electoral Officer has authorized the following types of documents for this purpose. 

Government-issued identity documents 

(For example, healthcare card, birth certificate, Social Insurance Card, passport, citizenship document/certificate, Old Age Security Identification Card, Canadian Forces identification, Firearm Acquisition Certificate, firearm Possession and Acquisition Licence, Veterans Affairs Canada Health Care Identification Card, Correctional Service Canada Offender Identification Card) 

Other government-issued documents  

(For example, property tax assessment, income tax assessment notice, government cheque, government cheque stub, statement of employment insurance benefits paid, Canada Child Tax Benefit Statement, statement of Canada Pension Plan benefits, statement of Old Age Security)  

School/college/university-issued document 

(For example, admissions letter, report card, transcript, residence acceptance, tuition/fees statement, student card) 

Other documents 

  • Provincial Where to Vote card
  • Bank/credit card or statement
  • Residential lease/mortgage statement Insurance statement
  • Public transportation pass­
  • Utility bill
  • Membership card
  • Hospital bracelet/document
  • Attestation of residence

I noticed that one of the people running had a sign right outside a voting station. It had been pushed down but funny thing, same person, last election, has signs right outside voting stations then too. I wonder....planned or just coincidental....I don't believe much in coincidence ......

Saw a group of four people wearing a Liberal candidate's badge standing right outside of a polling station. Must be desperate.
