By the end of today, it is highly probable we will be heading on the path to a federal election.
Conservative leader Stephen Harper introduced a motion in the House last week that simply stated, “This House has lost confidence in the government”. That motion will be put to a vote today.
It has been just 17 months since Paul Martin and his Liberals were elected to a minority government. What has changed since then?
Leaders: Then Now
Liberal Paul Martin Paul Martin
Conservatives Stephen Harper Stephen Harper
Bloc Quebecois Gilles Duceppe Gilles Duceppe
NDP Jack Layton Jack Layton
Issues: Then Now
Demonization of Harper Demonization of Liberals
Health Care Health Care
Hidden Agendas Hidden Agendas
Pollsters are already predicting this vote will result in another Liberal minority, as there is little chance Ontario will go with Harper, and no chance Quebec will side with Martin.
The only real difference this time around is the weather.

Must be something to that old saying, "Good guys come last."
These Liberals are not only bottom feeders, they hit the middle and the top of the trough, and want to lick it clean for the next refill.
And off the people go to the polls once again to vote for the lessor of the evil-but in this case it is the opposite.
The Liberals will get in again-and this pointless election will just cost one hell of a lot of money.
IF-and this is a mighty IF, this area votes Liberal, just maybe we might derive some of the benefits thrown out to the areas which elect a Liberal rep.
Is there any truth in the "If you can't fight 'em, join 'em" theory????
Dickie doesn't seem to be of any value to us-so what do you say we try those crooked Liberals on for size?
You do not seem to care about who you want to represent you in a civic election, and prefer the big time spenders and care not crew for the electorate at City Hall, so why not an attitude adjustment federally???
Some of those millions in that trough just might spill over and be up for grabs in this area.
Give it a thought!
Probably too much to ask!
Brains will all be frozen by then-or tunnel vision will take over.
As long as we have voted Conservative-we have received sweet nothing, so let's pension these guys off and go for the "big time."
Anybody game?
We really have nothing to lose!!!
