Prince George, B.C.- With 2 cm of snow expected today before the snowfall turns turn to rain, that will break a record for snowfall on this date in Prince George.
The previous record was 1 cm and that was set on this date 2 years ago.
The mixed bag of weather for Prince George on the long weekend kept everyone guessing as to what would come next but even though the forecast predicted rain mixed with snow, who would have thought the snow would pile up?
Saturday was overcast, rainy and cool, Sunday was perfect, and Monday, well, Monday was cold and windy for Prince George.
This snowfall wasn’t the only record broken in the north over the past few days, Ft St. John set a new record low on Monday when the temp dipped to minus 4, beating the previous record low for May 18th of minus 1.7 which was set back in 1969.
Fort Nelson also  hit the record books with a record low of minus 5,which was nearly 2 degrees colder than the record of -3.3 recorded in 1992.
The good news is, things will start to heat up tomorrow.
For Prince George, the temperature should warm up to 21 degrees by Saturday,
For Ft. St. John, the temperature will be hovering around the 17 degree mark come the weekend, and in   Fort Nelson the temperature will be around 20 degrees on the weekend.

Couple of inches of snow up the Hart this morning. If it wasn't for global warming we would probably have a foot or so.
yuck it's snowing 7:36 am
Yep, I live out in Lafernia subdivision, easily two inches of snow. Its elevation is about a 100ft higher than the Hart, and about 500 ft higher than the Bowl.

So, what did you guys do, last summer.
He spoke, Last summer I didn't have to shovel lots and lots of snow! Boy My dream has come true........
What is this "summer" of which you speak?
PG only has winter, spring & fall.
And yet we do not qualify for the Federal Northern Living Allowance tax refund. Get on the job MP's Hill and Harris, and do something for us, for once in your political careers.
Ah perfect weather for sitting outside in the new RCMP building, garden, hey Dan.
Oh I forgot to add, didn't see many bicycle commuters this morning.
I drove in from the Bowron river tonight at ten PM. Snow pretty well all the way and damn hard driving and passing when you can't see the centre line. I wonder why we don't install those little reflectors in the asphalt that they have in the US. I don't want to hear about the frost heaves either because that's bull*@?&.
