Prince George, B.C.- With 2 cm of snow expected today before the snowfall turns turn to rain, that will break a record for snowfall on this date in Prince George.
The previous record was 1 cm and that was set on this date 2 years ago.
The mixed bag of weather for Prince George on the long weekend kept everyone guessing as to what would come next but even though the forecast predicted rain mixed with snow, who would have thought the snow would pile up?Saturday was overcast, rainy and cool, Sunday was perfect, and Monday, well, Monday was cold and windy for Prince George.
This snowfall wasn’t the only record broken in the north over the past few days, Ft St. John set a new record low on Monday when the temp dipped to minus 4, beating the previous record low for May 18th of minus 1.7 which was set back in 1969.
Fort Nelson also hit the record books with a record low of minus 5,which was nearly 2 degrees colder than the record of -3.3 recorded in 1992.
The good news is, things will start to heat up tomorrow.
For Prince George, the temperature should warm up to 21 degrees by Saturday,
For Ft. St. John, the temperature will be hovering around the 17 degree mark come the weekend, and in Fort Nelson the temperature will be around 20 degrees on the weekend.
