Prince George, B.C.- The weather has played a role in several power outages in the Prince George region. B.C. Hydro says tree limbs weighted down with the snow have contacted power lines causing the outages.
In most cases the electricity is expected to be restored by 5 this afternoon.
The snow is also behind the closure of all sporting fields today. The City of Prince George says the fields are off limits until at least tomorrow as this kind of weather can result in serious injuries to players as well as cause damage to the turf.
The fields are expected to re-open tomorrow.
