The headline is one more case and the radio said that the prison numbers have doubled to four yet they say that the worst of the spread has peaked?? I wonder just how much of this is propaganda in order to stop any mass freak out? Seems to me that the numbers keep increasing yet everyone is saying its under control. Very confusing.
Well, considering the possibility of the epedemic. I consider it has peaked. In the event of a epedemic, 10% of the population can be effected, thus meaning 400,000 in BC alone. Thus, it has been managed. Way to go to the Health system, and the world health organization.
Ahhhh thank you He Spoke! That makes sense to me now. :}
There isnt any evidence that the spread has slowed or peaked or any such thing. This virus has mutated into a mild influenza virus. Many people in PG and elsewhere are getting it and staying home until they get better. They are not encouraged to get checked out or to have the virus identified. I know this from personal experience. When my kid and i got a flu last week with all the symptoms of swine flu we were told by two doctors that we had 'a bug' and that it was a virus and would run its course. Does that sound like active disease tracking to you? Just how many undiagnosed cases are there out there?
i dont have a problem with my doctors. H1N1 was, after all just another flu. I do have a problem with the world health organization or any other org. telling us that the flu was controlled. Bullcrap! If we learned anything from this bug it was that when the actual killer flu comes around it will not likely by contained. Better to work on treatment.
What the WHO did was inform everyone that the H1N1 is out there. Thus when we do fall under the flu symptoms we are more cautious of it. Thus, we reduce contact with others as much as possible until its infectious period is over. Thus it slows the spread down dramatically. We are probably talking a period of 96 hours. Thus knowledge has been and always the best form of medical care. By no means do I know even half of what I should to comment, but I do know that with all this information out there, even the average smuck knows about it.

Is the H1N1 beat, absolutely not. But a few more months and its should be pretty much irradicated. if not, the vacine will be out this fall for it. Did you get your shots last fall.
He Spoke,
Thus, by golly I think you've got it.
An average of 36,000 die from flu in North America each year and from 300,000 to 500,000 world wide. Not much is made of this as its usually the elderly and sick.
The flu shots you could get last fall would have no effect on this, a new version of the flu. I think it's a little optimistic to think that folks with minor flu symptoms are staying home for the week or two they suggest, or are arranging to stay home with little johnny cause he had a little bit of a cough and a slight fever the night before. Come on folks, this thing spread from mexico to small town BC despite folks being scared poo-less by reports of people dying.
