Prince George BC-    Gas prices went from 93.9 cents a litre to 106.9 within a matter of minutes today. A young employee when asked what had happened simply said, "Well it went down to 93.9, but a few minutes ago they told us to boost it to 106.9,  I don't know what's going on".

For those that still think in the old gallon system, that's an increase of 59.15 cents a gallon.

According to the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives,  that is 14.6 cents too high "With today's crude oil price of $61.05 USD per barrel and the US dollar at $1.14 CAD, the price of regular unleaded gasoline in Prince George should be 91.6¢ per litre at normal profit margins."

At a price of $1.07 per litre, you are paying 14.6¢ per litre in pure excess profit. Across Canada, an extra margin of 14.6¢ per litre generates an additional profit of 14.6 million dollars per day."

Here we go again! The gouging begins.
NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Maybe we need the government in the gas business.... been there did that. Oh well, I guess we have to learn to be bent over the barrel.
OMG!!!!!!!!! Everybody FREAK-OUT!
heres a hint: reduce your driving this weekend. if they see a drop then they will know people are capable of doing more than griping.
some one should open thier own gas station, and put it at the right amount, then maybe, just maybe we wont be gauged. Either that or the government steps in. other than that i dont see them stoping the stupidity!
Hmmmmm 60 cents a gallon, robbed again, In the States heads would be rolling. Gas in the States probably went up 13 cents their gallon and we get sucked in by the liter.
Oh yeah and just wait til Campbell gives us a little more well deserved carbon tax. That ought to raise the price another 10 cents p/l. Thanks Gordy.
Price was still 93.9 at Superstore at around 4pm ... a line-up of some 15 cars ...
wow 30 cents how poor are you guys
Alberta is looking better and better all the time. To bad there isn't any competition in the fuel business.Imagine if they raised food prices like this. Everyone that says we should suck it up would be crying a river.
can't the gorvernment step in here and only allow any increase that may be neccessary to be put on or taken off as the case may be depending on the price of a barrel of crude?
As of 9:15pm it was still 93.9 at the Esso on Queensway (7-11). Go fill up there, quickly. Try not to get knifed though.
Hey I think I read this story last May? And the one before that and the one before that.....
