Prince George, B.C.- The Mega Auto Sale set to start on Thursday  through to June 6th  will mean a loss of parking on the paved lots at the Exhibition grounds for other events in the area, specifically soccer.

However, parking is available in the following areas:

• The parking lots surrounding the Prince George Aquatic Centre

• In the gravel parking lot next to the CN Centre’s electronic message sign (bordering Ospika Boulevard).

Traffic flow will also be restricted in Exhibition Park due to the Auto Sale and special events. The City is advising now, that anyone parking in a “no parking” area along 18th Avenue runs the risk of getting a parking ticket.

"The City is advising now, that anyone parking in a “no parking” area along 18th Avenue runs the risk of getting a parking ticket."

Isn't that kind of the City? How accommodating. Hopefully there are no events at the CN Centre.

What would prevent the City from dedicating part of the paved area to the north for the use of the Soccer Field players and onlookers and moving part of the auto sales further south?

I drive that part of 18th avenue frequently. Whenever there is an event at the soccer fields traffic is slowed down considerably to accommodate pedestrians. It can be a busy area. I find the City's solution to not be very accommodating. Lighten up!
Thats okay GUS if GM, Ford, And Chrysler follow through on their threats and promises the show next year will a lot smaller.
Actually didn't Chrysler take the Canadian bail out money , close up Canadian shop and move back to the states already?????
There's plenty of parking all around. I have kids in soccer and the Mega Sale has been a minor inconvenience, at worst. Plan ahead, don't expect to park right out front.

It never ceases to amaze me how lazy people are.
Especially people who play soccer. They need to conserve energy for the games.
and who would be buying a new vehicle? Especially a North American vehicle in these uncertain economic times.
