Quesnel, B.C.-  The Quesnel and District Teachers Association questions why teachers are getting laid off, but no administration are getting the axe.

President Terri Mooring says District 28 is top-heavy, with a ratio of teachers to administrators of 6.7 to 1 compared with a provincial average of 10.28 to 1.

However, District 28 Board Caroline Nielson dispute the Quesnel number.  She says Mooring is counting elementary school principals as administration when some of their job includes teaching.

hmmmm...I guess if they laid off any people in administration, they would not have enough rocket scientists to figure out who to cut in the union?
My condolences to all those laid off.
:-(
Administrators are not teachers. They may have time where they teach, but do not belong to the same union as the teachers.
Good Greif! I find it amazing that people think administators are in the teachers union. Isn't it obvious? How many administrators at Canfor are in the union?
