There are two new websites up and running  so you can  submit your thoughts on  the provincial sales tax review.
The Minister of Small Business and Revenue and Minister Responsible for Regulatory Reform,Rick Thorpe, announced the launching of the sites today at the Small Business roundtable session in Prince George.

The websites, www.smallbusinessroundtable.ca and www.sbr.gov.bc.ca/PSTReview/index.htm, allow you to submit ideas or comments on line. The sites include information about the consultation processes, latest news, meeting schedules and locations and highlights.

Government committed this spring to a comprehensive review of the provincial sales tax code. The review will ask for revenue-neutral options to simplify, streamline and enhance fairness of the Province’s provincial sales tax policies and legislation. Consultations for the review will begin later this month.

The permanent Small Business Roundtable will conduct 16 consultations between now and April to gather input from small business owners across the province.

I'd like to see the immediate removal of all sales tax on essential residential energy like hydro and natural gas.
Just sent them a message and also said they could make up the difference with an increase in the PST to energy exports.
The web-site says:

"Small business is the engine that drives our growing, booming economy. When we serve our customers better they can serve their customers better as well."

They should know that the primary customer is the disposable income of Joe Blow Consumer. If Jimmy Two Boats is taxed out of heating his home in the cold of winter he is less likely to spend money in a small business during those dreaded months after Christmas.
