Prince George, B.C.- The level of the Fraser River at south Fort George is slowly dropping, sitting at 8.358 meters this morning. While emergency officials have been keeping an eye on the levels, there has been no need to issue any advisories.
It would appear Terrace has been spared a flood. Although a flood watch remains in effect for the Skeena, Nass, Kitsumkalum , Stikine and Liard Rivers, most have reached their peaks from snowmelt and have started to fall slightly or are holding near their peak levels. Water levels are not anticipated to rise further from snowmelt alone (except for the Liard River at Lower Post, which will rise slightly today before plateauing). Further significant rise in water level on these rivers will require significant rainfall.
The High Streamflow Advisory is maintained for the Bulkley River, Kispiox River and Telkwa River, and other rivers and streams in the North-West.
The High Streamflow Advisory is maintained for the Quesnel River.
