Lillooet, B.C. The Tyaughton Lake fire continues to rage. There are now 250 personnel working on the fire (including support staff), including 200 fire fighters, 13 helicopters and 46 pieces of heavy equipment. Structural protection units have also been brought in to help protect homes in the immediate vicinity of the wildfire.

Crews were advised to expect extreme fire behaviour as 20-30 km/hr westerly winds were forecast to move the fire front eastward towards Liza, Marshall and Carol Lakes
The evacuation order remains in effect for Marshall Lake, Liza Lake, Carol Lake, Mud Creek, Tyaughton Lake and Gun Creek Road.

The evacuation alert remains in place for Gun Lake, Gold Bridge and Bralorne.

Bellevue Creek:
This fire is 16 km south of Kelowna and is impacting about 7 hectares. Today,  40 firefighters will be working the fire, along with 5 pieces of heavy equipment and air support is available if required.

Junction of Smith and Liard Rivers:
The size of this fire has been revised to  20,537 hectares. The reason for the size shift is due to more accurate mapping from the air. The fire is still growing but at a slower rate.
Crews are continuing to work along the highway. Due to storms activity Monday night (June 8) and erratic winds fire size did increase.
Smoke is heavy in local areas.
Alaska highway will have delays due to heavy smoke in the area.
Four unit crews and an incident management team (15 Support Staff) are all on site.
