The Prince George Cougars  Assistant General Manager Wade Klippenstein will  be taking on additional duties  as he adds the title of  Director of Player Personnel.

Klippenstein is entering his third season as a member of the Cougars staff.  Along with his role as Assistant GM, Klippenstein also served on the bench the past two seasons, first as Assistant Coach, then assuming the Head Coaching role in December 2008.  Prior to being hired by the Cougars, Klippenstein served as a head scout for the Moose Jaw Warriors and was a key recruiter for his alma mater, the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for me to work alongside Dallas Thompson and Dean Clark to help build a championship caliber team,” said Klippenstein. “I have had a desire to take on more of the management side of player personnel and I’m really looking forward to this role I have accepted with the team.”

The Cougars have also hired two more scouts to the staff: Rob Larke of Anchorage, Alaska and Jeff Odgers from Spy Hill, Saskatchewan.

Wonder how the negotiations are going with the City. As it now stands the City is taking a big hit, having these dudes in the CN Centre.

At one time Brodsky said he had to have 3000 fans per game at a minimum to make money. Last year he averaged 2500 fans per game, so we can assume that he is losing money, and of course the City is loosing big time.

If they cannot get a decent team, and somehow get back some fans, then all we really have is a franchise that makes enough money to keep, Brodskys brood employed.

Maybe thats what it is really all about.
