Cancer Experts Arriving In Prince George

Prince George, B.C.- Tomorrow marks the start of three days of discussion in  Prince George  about cancer.
 
Thursday, there will be a free public forum aimed at cancer patients, their family and friends. There will be two sessions which will offer a variety of topics. In the morning, there will be a cooking demonstration on preparing healthy food, then a session on how to support your loved ones through treatment.
 
In the afternoon, the forum will look at helping cancer patients transition from active treatment to active living.    The sessions take place at the Ramada, they are free, and   you can find more information by clicking here.
 
On Friday and Saturday, the experts get down to business , networking, sharing information and discussing  innovative and workable solutions to common rural and community cancer control issues.
 
This summit will also see Northern Health actively trying to send out a message to recruit the 100 health care professionals who will be needed to staff the BC Cancer Agency’s Centre for the North and related support services through Prince George Regional Hospital. Construction of the centre is expected to be completed in 2012.

Simple, stop eating fancy condiments. Make your own condiments with oil, vinegars and spices

Eat less fatty foods

Eat fresh vegetables, wash them and then cook them or eat them raw. Don't have to be organic.

Take food out of plastic before you nuke them. Better yet heat it up on a stove if you have time.

Less sugar, no sugar replacement crap.

Get some sunlight, be active.

Use butter instead of margerine.

Drink lots of water.

Less coffee

No energy drinks.

Drink less pops, especially carbonated drinks

Reduce your fast food intake

Reduce the potato chips or similar foods. There has to be a reason why it can last six months on a shelf, chemicals!

Your body is meant to be used, work till you are sore, do that on a regular basis, and your body will love you for it. Push yourself a bit, Extend your limitations each time.

For a local tour they could go for a drive by the Husky refinery to sight see the area... maybe a good idea?
