Victoria, B.C.- The Supreme Court of Canada will hand down its ruling Friday on a possible fourth trial for Kelly Ellard.

Ellard was convicted of second degree murder in the 1997 beating death of 14 year old Rena Virk under a bridge in Victoria.

The B.C. Court of appeal overturned that conviction, a second trial was held which resulted in a hung jury.

A third trial, four years ago, ended with Ellard again being convicted , but the B.C. Court of Appeal overturned that conviction saying the trial judge had erred in instructions to the jury. A fourth trial was ordered, but the Crown appealed the ruling to the Supreme Court of Canada which heard the arguments in April.

...somebodies got money
sounds like it. The kid killed someone, the kids got to pay for her crime. Don't tell me about the child protection. She was not a kid, she simply did a hate crime.

She can say she is sorry, boo hoo hoo. shut up and pay the price.

Another example of our stellar justice system.

ohhh Ellard would be scarred for life........... I most certainly hope that it would be forever etched in her mind. I hope that she sees images of the person drowning for the rest of her life.

It is one thing for it to take someones life away because of an accident, but this was murder.
