Sick.
This is something that I just can't understand. How could anyone hurt such a helpless baby? I don't doubt that we will hear how alcohol played a large role and I won't be surprised to hear that the Ministry of Families will have been involved at one time. I also don't doubt that this will scar all who know this family and cause a great deal of pain for many years to come. I can't find a justification for an adult taking his or her anger out on a defensless baby - it is beyond reason. Bless you little one, may you rest in peace.
A healing circle or our so called justice system will not cure the sick p.o.s. that hurt that child. How about an eye for an eye? For example, if the poor child was shaken to death, perhaps a fitting punishment would be for two big strong boys to shake the perp until he or she succumbs and expires. No kind of punishment is too harsh or cruel for a crime involving the harm of a child. There can be no excuses.
Justice should be swift and unforgiving.
