Forest Service fire fighting planes over a lightning sparked blaze at Pelican Lake

Prince George B.C. - The thunderstorm that rolled through the Prince George area last evening sparked at least one more forest fire.

An Opinion 250 reader was fishing at Boat Lake when he heard a roll of thunder. About 15 minutes later, he spotted smoke coming from the trees, and headed down Batnuni Lake road to Pelican Lake for a closer look. He arrived in time to see the forest service plane dump some fire retardant on the flames.
