Workers examine site of gas leak
Prince George, B.C.- It could be another two hours before staff and patients at the Prince George Veterinary Hospital are allowed back in their facility.
A natural gas line was ruptured this morning in the 18th Avenue and Ogilvie area.
Animals at the Veterinary Hospital were moved to the Ospika Animal Hospital.
“At the time we were told it would be about two hours before we could go back in” says oe P.G. Animal Hospital employee, but now they are telling us it will be another two hours at least” That means the Animal hospital will be closed until around 3:00.
The rupture appears to be linked to some work that was underway in the area, although the exact cause has not been disclosed.

digging too close to old fragile lines, ironically its with in 200 feet of the old BC Gas office.
Hey, the same line about 200 feet up the street sprung a leak this winter. Hmmmm, maybe its an indication that these lines are about to have a major failure shortly.
Oh geez! I hope all the pets were OK!
For those of us over the hill enough to remember, it was Inland Natural Gas who laid many of the original mains, not BC Gas. If they had better as builts, this leak may not have occurred.
