Prince George, B.C. - A well known SPCA worker, 34 year  old Jeannine Woodhouse, has been identified as one of two women killed in a head on crash between two vehicles about 11 kilometres south of McLeese Lake , Tuesday morning.Scene Image

Woodhouse was the lone occupant of a vehicle that crashed head on into a vehicle driven by 44 year old Marjorie Westergard of Williams Lake. Both women died instantly in the crash.

Woodhouse had worked for many years at the SPCA, she recently returned to fill in for another worker on maternity leave.

According to  police, the 1998 Ford Ranger pick-up truck driven by  Jeannine Woodhouse, was travelling southbound on Highway 97, when it crossed the centre line in a curve and collided head-on  with a 2001 Honda Accord, travelling northbound.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene of this incident.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts and alcohol was not a factor in this incident.

The road was bare and dry and in very good condition. The weather provided for clear and sunny skies, with excellent visibility.

The B.C. Coroners Service attended and will continue its investigation with the assistance of the Cariboo Chilcotin Traffic Services Unit. The Collision Reconstructionist from Prince George attended the scene to conduct a forensic examination of the physical evidence available, in the hopes of establishing the contributing factors in this crash.

A third vehicle, from Alaska, was involved in this collision, however it sustained only minor damage and the driver was uninjured.

This is very sad news. Jeannine was also a Correctional Officer at PGRCC and will be sadly missed by all there.
Jeannie was a wonderful lady, wife, mother, friend, sister, aunt etc. She will be missed greatly and my family is sending thoughts and prayers to her family and friends at this sad and difficult time - XO
Right on B.P.P.!!
My thoughts go out to the Woodhouse family. Jeannine was a great individual and will be greatly missed throughout the community.
I don't know what the inmates would say.

If the animals she has helped in her career with the SPCA could talk they would say. "What a loss!" "She loved us, she fed us, she comforted us when we were sick, scared and alone." "She found us people to love and took us away from people who did not love us." They'd say "Thank you so very much for spending part of your life caring for us, thank you for the hours, thank you for the hugs, the pettings, the tears you shed when there was only one final solution for us." "Thank you for standing up for us when not many would. Thank you...."
