Two P.G. Connections in NHL Entry Draft

Prince George, B.C. - --One Prince George native and one Prince George Cougar were selected in the NHL Entry Draft which concluded today  in Montreal.

Chilliwack Bruins left winger Ryan Howse of PG was chosen by the Calgary Flames in the 3rd round, 74th overall. The 5'11", 195 pound Howse turns 18 on July 6th. He was the Bruins leading scorer last season with 31
goals and 13 assists for 44 points in 61 games.


Prince George Cougars forward Marek Viedensky ( in photo at right ) was taken in the 7th and  final round by the San Jose Sharks, 189th overall. The 6'4", 185 pound Viedensky will celebrate his 19th birthday on August 18th. He finished
his first season in the WHL with 16 goals and 24 assists for 40 points in 59 games. Viedensky added two goals in four playoff games.
