Full Slate of Matters for City Council Tonight

Prince George, B.C.- The City Council for Prince George will be asked to put a notice against the title of a property at 6713 Westmount Drive . The building inspector says   there have been building code violations at the site.
Council will also receive a presentation from the Prince George Regional Performing Arts Society.  The presentation will update Council on the status of the P3 Application and the  next steps in the plan to develop a  performing arts centre.
 
Also on the agenda for this evening’s session, details on the expenses and dollars paid out to Council and the Mayor in 2008 as the annual Council remuneration figures are filed. The Downtown Business Association will file its annual financial report as will the Gateway Business Improvement area Society.  
 
Council will also be asked to give the first three readings to rezone a piece of propert on Alward to clear the way for a Lodge for patients undergoing cancer treatment at the new, yet to be built, Northern Cancer centre. (see Lodge Details Floated)
 
There were some items from the last council meeting which have been carried over to tonight, including, the notice of motion from Councillor Cameron Stolz. The Mayor is expected to make clear his   thoughts on the notice of motion.
 
There will be information delivered of  a plan to increase transit service this September to new and existing routes servicing the College of New Caledonia.   The cost of the expansion to the City is $42,000.  
 
Council will also be asked to approve the preparation of a plan and budget to make the City “Bear Smart.”

well, need I go on? I think most will get the idea of sSmart this, smart that.

I am so glad that at this stage in my life, people are finally realizing that smart rather than stupid is the way to go.

Now, if we could only be teaching smart and learning smart some of this smart stuff may have a shot to rub off on people.
So what is the trife between Stolz and Rogers
Smart Growth on the Ground is not so smart either. Has anyone at City Hall tried to put a price tag on their crazy plans? Funnily enough, SGOG want to build a giant man made lake on the exact same site as the proposed Performing Arts Centre. Swan Lake in the Summer, and Icecapades in the winter.
