Prince George, B.C. - Environment Canada says nearly half the average precipitation for July fell this week.

Meteorologist Jim Steele says 28 millimetres of rain came down from Monday onward, while the average amount for the entire month is typically 63 millimetres.

Steele says Tuesday was a record breaker for rain as 17.2 millimetres fell.  The previous one-day record was set back in 1965 at nearly 16 millimetres.

Things should start to dry out this week as Steele says the weather system that brought the moisture into the Prince George area should start to move off, allowing dry air to stream in.

Steele says residents can expect plenty of sunshine and temperatures of up to 29 degrees Celsius starting Friday.

Almost enough to make one be grateful to be on the Lower Rainland.
The moose are loving it, and it mostly came at night anyways so it was all good IMO... plus the thunderstorms are kind of neat once in a while.
